Transgender

Hair removal for transgender individuals is an important topic to discuss.

The trans population is very near and dear to our hearts. Few know what it is like to suffer and face the self-rejection and fears that you’ve endured your entire life. At Emancipated Electrolysis, LLC, we are very sensitive to your needs and want to assure you that we will treat you with deep concern, in a judgement free and totally discrete manner. In short, we feel your pain and are here to help. In fact, our inspiration arose from helping the trans population specifically, removing all of the stigma and fear from your much needed treatment, and we are deeply involved with the trans community.

While the biggest electrolysis concerns are always directed toward trans women, we’d like to take the time to talk about trans men first. While phalloplasty is done less frequently than vaginoplasty, we’re just eager to take care of your hair removal needs as we are for trans women. As you grow hair, particularly if you start HRT, you may encounter some of the same situations that cis-males develop, like hairs growing in the corners of your lips, unwanted hair on your shoulders, etc. We are more than happy to treat you. Another service that has been occasionally requested, is a creation of a male hairline on the scalp to get the hair off the forehead or maybe even recede the corners a little. Should you be interested in such a look, call or email us and we’ll be happy to schedule a free professional consultation with a complimentary trial removal.

Now, trans women. Almost nobody wants, make that needs, as much work done as you. It isn’t uncommon to want to be completely hairless below the eyes, though obviously the beard is usually the highest priority. All of your hair can be treated, regardless of its thickness, color, direction of growth or the amount of problems you’ve had with it over the years. We are one of the few places in the area that are willing do removal for vaginoplasty.

We strongly recommend NOT doing laser before electrolysis, especially for vaginoplasty prep. Laser is NOT permanent removal, only permanent reduction and the results often don’t last. Once you do laser, we can no longer even guess when your hair will stop returning, and you’ll still likely spend as much on electrolysis as if you had never done laser before. For people seeking vaginoplasty, the last thing you want, is the risk of hair growing inside your vagina post-op, and there is a significant risk of that occurring with laser. We also strongly recommend avoiding any surgeon that tells you not to bother with hair removal prior to surgery.

Most trans women regret not starting hair removal earlier. It can be a long, seemingly endless, process to remove a thick, well developed beard, particularly in middle age, but it can be done. Many electrologists don’t want to work for more than an hour straight, but we are willing to be as aggressive as you want to be, sitting for multi-hour sessions to help get you to your endpoint as quickly as possible as we know it is vitally important to you. You may also benefit quite enormously, even perhaps getting all of your entire work done for free*, by referring your friends to us for treatment. Call or email us and we’ll be happy to schedule a free professional consultation with a complimentary trial removal, so that you, too, can see what it’s like to finally be freed from your unwanted hair.
